Top 4 Reasons UMHB Donors Give

4reasonsOne of the great privileges of working in Development at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is getting to know amazing individuals who are generous in their giving.  In these relationships, we learn so much about what motivates each one to give.

I give because someone gave to help me.

Many donors tell stories of how they “miraculously” received enough money through student scholarships to come to UMHB when they did not think it was possible.  They knew someone gave sacrificially so they could attend college and they are forever grateful.

I give because God has given so freely to me.

A recent donor cried as she recalled how God had provided for her. This particular donor was an educator and had no idea she would one day be able to make such a huge financial impact on the lives of UMHB students to come.  It was a joy to watch her give because God had given to her.

I give to honor someone who has made a difference in my life.

Maybe you have noticed the plaques with names and faces on the UMHB administration building?  The faces on those plaques are people who made a mark on another’s life.  Next time you pass by, stop and read about the life of someone who was honored by one of our donors.

I give because I believe in Christian Higher Education.

Students today can earn a degree from any number of universities.  Being a Christ-centered campus sets UMHB apart and donors desire to invest in the spiritual formation of students during such a transformational time of life.

Knowing people like this is an honor.  These people are some of God’s greatest gifts to UMHB.  They not only give so others can receive the UMHB experience, but they teach us about sacrifice and obedience.  They amaze me daily.

Over 90% of students at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor receive some form of Financial Aid thanks to the generosity of our donors. UMHB might be the place for you! We’re a Christ-centered, accredited university in Central Texas. Stop by for a visit!
